Patrícia Jerónimo takes part in international workshop on religion and antidiscrimination law

Patrícia Jerónimo was one of the guest speakers at the international workshop held at the National University of Ireland School of Law, in Galway, on 7 June 2022. The workshop discussed the existing tension between protecting freedom of religion and preventing discrimination based on gender and sexual orientation, for example, focusing on the way this tension is being arbitrated by domestic and international courts. Patrícia Jerónimo gave a presentation on the case law of Portuguese courts dealing the accommodation of times of worship when scheduling entry exams for regulated professions (such as the Bar exam) and when regulating work relations in the private and public sectors. The other speakers at the workshop were John Adenitire, Colm O’Cinneide, Peter Danchin, Mark A. Graber, Anton Kok, Christopher McCrudden, Mathias Möschel and Ioanna Tourkochoriti.
