Debate on regulation of immigration in Portugal

GEICS Interdisciplinary Studies Group in Social Sciences (Grupo de Estudos Interdisciplinares em Ciências Sociais) of the University of Minho Interdisciplinary Centre of Social Sciences (Centro Interdisciplinar de Ciências Sociais – Polo da Universidade do Minho) (CICS.NOVA.UMinho) hosted a debate on the legal reforms of the immigration and nationality laws currently ongoing in Portugal, with the title “GEICS Conference: Portugal with open doors for whom? Migration and legislative reform proposals” (Conferência GEICS: Portugal de portas abertas para quem? Migração e propostas de alteração legislativa). The debate was held online on 25 September 2025 with Patrícia Jerónimo, Isabel Carvalhais (CICP & EEG-UMinho), and Ana Paula Costa (IPRI & Casa do Brasil) as speakers.
