International symposium on citizenship in colonial and post-colonial settings

Patrícia Jerónimo took part as speaker in an international symposium on citizenship in colonial and post-colonial settings (Losing, Retaining, Reclaiming the Citizenship of the Former Colonial Power: Comparative Perspectives from 1945 to the Present), with a paper entitled “Retention, loss, and (re)acquisition of Portuguese citizenship for formerly colonised populations and their descendants (1975 to the present)”. The symposium, which was held in Paris on 18 and 19 June 2024, was co-organised by researchers Emmanuel Blanchard and Emilien Fargues, and was sponsored by the Institut National d’Études Démographiques, the Institut Convergences Migrations (ICM), the Centre de Recherches Sociologiques sur le Droit et les Institutions Pénales, and the French Archives Nationales.
