The decolonial turn in Comparative Law debated in Berlin

The General Congress of the International Academy of Comparative Law was held at the Humboldt University of Berlin between 28 September and 2 October 2026. One of the topics selected for this year’s programme was “The Decolonial Turn in Comparative Law,” which had a dedicated panel chaired by René Fernando Urueña Hernández, of the Universidad de los Andes (Colombia), and which included as speakers Barbara Pasa, of the Università Iuav di Venezia (Italy), as General Rapporteur, and several National Rapporteurs such as Patrícia Jerónimo, University of Minho (Portugal), Blaise Alfred Ngando, Université de Yaoundé II (Cameroon), Dušan Nikolić, University of Novi Sad (Servia), Jonas Knetsch, Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne (France), Elina N. Moustaira, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (Greece), and Stephen M. Sheppard, University of Kansas School of Law (USA).
