CUREDI Annual Conference in Halle

The team of the CUREDI project, led by Marie-Claire Foblets at the Department of Law and Anthropology of the Max Planck Institute in Halle, met between 26 and 28 November 2025 for the project’s annual conference. The overall theme was judicial approaches to issues of cultural and religious diversity in Europe. The conference was also the occasion for the launch of the CUREDI database.

Patrícia Jerónimo, who is country expert for Portugal in the CUREDI project, presented a judgment of the Lisbon Court of Appeal on racial discrimination and “hate music”, and discussed a case report on a judgment of the Spanish Constitutional Court on the right of the parents to ensure that their children’s education is in conformity with their religious or philosophical beliefs. As part of the exchanges about similar projects and collaborations, Patrícia Jerónimo also had the opportunity to share updates on the project InclusiveCourts.
