The conference brought together academics and legal professionals to debate the grounding principles of the nationality policy, the challenges of compliance with international, EU, and Portuguese constitutional law, as well as the practical consequences of the amendment in its day-to-day implementation, including in the field of criminal law. The speakers included Rui Armindo Freitas (Deputy Secretary of State for the Presidency), Rui Moura Ramos (University of Coimbra), Patr\u00edcia Jer\u00f3nimo (University of Minho), Jorge Pereira da Silva (Portuguese Catholic University), Marta Vicente (Portuguese Catholic University), Concei\u00e7\u00e3o Cunha (Portuguese Catholic University), and Vit\u00f3ria Andrade e Silva (Registry and Notary Institute).
